There are several important dates coming up to mark on your calendars.
1. Hands Off My Health Care Rally - Wednesday, August 19
The Patients First "Hands off my Health Care" Bus Tour is coming to Indiana this week. It will start in Fort Wayne on Monday and will pass through southern Indiana, stopping for a rally in Jeffersonville at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19.
The rally will be held in Warder Park (on the corner of Court Avenue and Spring Street, there on the left as you go off I-65 and head into downtown Jeff). Bring a few friends, bring your signs, sign their "Hands Off My Health Care" petition, and let your voice be heard.
Baron Hill refuses to hold town hall meetings, so events like this one are going to be one of our only chances to speak out and get his attention.
2. September Republican Party Meeting, Saturday, September 5
The regularly-scheduled monthly county GOP meeting for September has been rescheduled to Saturday, September 5, at 9:00 a.m.
Please note that this is a different date and an earlier time than normal. Heritage Weekend will be going on during the second Saturday in September, so we moved our meeting up a week to compensate. We also are holding the meeting an hour earlier than normal.
We will be finishing up planning for Heritage Weekend at this meeting.
3. Heritage Weekend Parade, Saturday, September 12
The Lanesville Heritage Weekend Parade will be Saturday, September 12, at 1:00 p.m. and the Harrison County GOP will have a float in the parade.
If you can, please walk in the parade with us or ride our float. All you need to do is show up. Get there a bit early, probably before noon, as traffic into Lanesville tends to back up.
The parade forms up in the field there at the corner of State Road 62 and Crandall-Lanesville Road (the road that comes down from the exit off of I-64).
If you can't join us in the parade, be sure to stop by our booth near the Jaycees building on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
Hope to see you there!
