How to Become a Republican

“I didn’t leave the Democratic Party. The party left me.”
- Ronald Reagan

Folks often ask how to become a Republican in Indiana.

It’s quick and easy.

There is no form to full out. You do not have to change your voter registration. There are no sworn statements.

All you have to do is ask for a Republican primary ballot at the polls when you go to vote on May 4, or when you request an absentee ballot, or when you vote early at the Harrison County Courthouse.

It’s very simple.

To quote Ronald Reagan, “I know what it’s like to pull the Republican lever for the first time, because I used to be a Democrat myself and I can tell you it only hurts for a minute and then it feels just great.”

If you subscribe to the Corydon Democrat, you can see our ad this past week explaining how to become a Republican. It even includes a picture of Ronald Reagan. You can see a picture of the ad at our website, here, or as a current online ad over at the Corydon Democrat’s website, here.

It seems that the Obama economy is so bad that the O’Bannons will now allow Reagan’s picture to grace the pages of their newspaper, even if only in an advertisement.
